"PAC-preferred" candidates for June 4th elections
This list mostly comprises Labour or Lib-Dem candidates, since both parties are committed to reversing the Conservatives' school foul-up. In one case, we recommend Green candidate Andrew Stringer, a tireless advocate of Middle Schools, and in one case Conservative candidate Bill Bishop, who rebelled against the party whip in 2007 to vote against the proposed destruction of Middle Schools.

The Conservatives currently hold 40 seats, Labour 21, Lib Dem 9, and Independents 2. At by-elections since 2005, the Lib Dems have gained two seats from the Conservatives, and the Conservatives have gained one seat from Labour. One former Conservative Councillor, Paul Hopfensberger, became an Independent in 2007 after resigning from the party over the schools reform vote.

In divisions where there are two seats up for grabs, please remember to vote for both PAC recommended candidates.
